Abstract: |
In this paper, Guangxi Beihai kaolin was used as object of study. The kaolin was modified by dry modification process. Then, accomplished the experiment of filling in butadiene rubber(BR) with modified kaolin and preparing modified kaolin/BR composites. By investigating the activation index of modified kaolin and the mechanical properties of composites, the best modification conditions were determined as follows: activator palm oil 1%; modifier WD-70 1%; assistant modifier stearic acid 1%; modification temperature 90℃; modification time 20min. The best mechanical properties of composites as follows: tensile strength 14.13MPa; tear strength 26.90 kN.m-1; shoer A hardness 57.9A; akron abrasion 0.921cm3. Experiment result show that, the mechanical properties of the composites which were filled with modified fine grade kaolin can meet the international standards of rubber soles(HG/T3082-1999). SEM images of the stretching cross-section show that there is a good compatibility of the modified kaolin and rubber matrix |
