Abstract: |
The influence of thermal oxidative aging on dispersion stability of SBR latex was investigated. The results showed that, during the thermal aging, carboxylic acid which was produced in a oxidative decomposition reaction of nonionic surfactant caused the decrease of pH value, and then the reduction of pH value caused the decrease of surface charge of SBR latex particles which weakened the electrostatic repulsion of particles. On the other hand, the space steric effect provided by nonionic surfactant was impaired by decomposition reaction. Both factors caused the decrease of dispersion stability of SBR latex. |
