Abstract: |
The starch was modified by resorcinol-formaldehyde(RF) resin,a starch/NR composite was prepared by emulsion co-coagulation method, and the influence of addition level of modified starch on the properties of composites was investigated and compared to NR composite filled by the same volume fraction of carbon black and Si69 modified silica. The results showed that, the cross-linkingreactionbetween starch and NR was strengthened, the physical properties of starch/NR composite were improved;the comprehensive properties of the composite containing 20 phr starch and 3.6 phr RF resin were best;Shore A hardness and modulus at 300% elongation of the composites increased as the addition level of modified starch increased. When the volume fractions of fillers were the same, the reinforcement effect of the modified starch was similar to that of carbon black and better than that of silica.
