Abstract: |
The nanokaolin/rubber (NR,SBR,BR or EPDM) composites were analyzed by TEM,XRD,IR and TGA,and their physical properties and thermal stability were investigated. The results showed that the nanokaolin/rubber composites had better resilience, tensile strength and thermal stability, but somewhat poorer tear strength and modulus when compared to the silica/rubber composite;and the excellent physical properties and thermal stability were mainly attributed to the nano-scale thickness and good dispersity of flaky kaolin particles, the tight bonding between flaky particles and rubber molecules in nano-size,as well as the separation and parallel arrangement to each other orientationally of flaky particles in rubber matrix. |
