Abstract: |
The effect of the magnesium hydroxide/chlorinated paraffin/antimony trioxide flame retardant system on the properties of CM was investigated and compared to that of the magnesium hydroxide alone. The results showed that in case of magnesium hydroxide alone, the oxidative index of CM increased as the addition level of magnesium hydroxide increased, and the physical properties of CM vulcanizate decreased significantly if the extra magnesium hydroxide was used;in case of magnesium hydroxide/chlorinated paraffin/antimony trioxide flame retardant system, the same flame retardance as that of magnesium hydroxide was obtained, but the physical properties of CM vulcanizate improved;and it was found by optimizing the formula that a CM vulcanizate with better flame retardance and physical properties was obtained when 66.3 phr magnesium hydroxide,4.7 phr chlorinated paraffin and 11.8 phr antimony trioxide were used. |
