| Abstract: |
| The optimal design for metering section of extruder screw was investigated.The flow of rubber compound in the screw channel was analyzed with the basic equation of the viscous fluid kinetics.A simplified mathematic model for the optimal design of the metering section on extruder screw was established and solved by the restrained random direction method to obtain the minimum specific energy consumption.The results showed that the depth of screw channel，the width of flight top，the clearance between flight top and barrel，and the helix angle of flight in the optimized design were in or close to the range recommended in the literatures. |
