Abstract: |
The stress-strain curves of a set of gutta-percha fractions with broader molecular weight distribution were investig ated, the transitio n of gutta-percha from brittle to plastic, and then to dutile was revealed with the change of its molecular weight, and the molecular weight range, responding to which guttapercha transited from brittle to plastic, was established. The results showed that the mechanical properties of
gutta-percha in the brittle to plastic transition area were unstable, and the tensile streng th and elongation at break increased up to the maximum values and then decreased gradually. |
