Abstract:
The application of kaolin in sidewall compound of all-steel giant off-the-road radial tire used in mine was studied. The results showed that replacing a portion of carbon black N330 with kaolin, the Mooney viscosity of the compound was reduced, and the vulcanization rate had a little change.Compared with the vulcanizate without kaolin, the hardness of the vulcanizate with unmodified kaolin did not change much, the tensile strength and elongation at break increased, the moduli at 300% and loss factor at 60 ℃ decreased, the compression heat generation decreased, and the modulus at 100% and 300% of the vulcanizates with silane coupling agent Si69 modified kaolin increased. The crack growth rates of the vulcanizates with unmodified kaolin and with silane coupling agent Si69 modified kaolin decreased, and with the increase of the modified kaolin dosage, the crack growth rate of the vulcanizate decreased. The tear resistance of the vulcanizate with unmodified kaolin was improved, but compare with it,the tear energy of the vulcanizate with silane coupling agent Si69 modified kaolin was reduced. The greater the modified kaolin dosage was,the lower the tear energy of the vulcanizate was.Kaolin did not significantly affect the ozone aging resistance of the vulcanizate and the dispersion of carbon black in rubber mix.
