| Abstract: |
| The influence of liquid phase oil-extension(with the simultaneous incorporation of reinforcing filler silica) on the properties of functionalized solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber(SSBR) compounds was investigated.The results showed that compared to unextended functionalized SSBR(hereinafter referred to as SSBR) compound and vulcanizate,the Mooney viscosities of oil-extended(aromatic oil-extended and naphthenic oil-extended) SSBR compounds significantly decreased,and the processabilities were significantly improved.The Payne effects of oil-extended SSBR compounds and vulcanizates were weakened,indicating improved silica dispersion.The Shore A hardnesses of oil-extended SSBR vulcanizates decreased,tensile strengths changed little,tear strengths increased,compression fatigue temperature rise was reduced,and wear resistance was improved.Compared to aromatic oil-extended SSBR compound and vulcanizate,the naphthenic oil-extended compound exhibited a reduced Mooney viscosity,the vulcanizate displayed a increased 300% modulus,reduced compression fatigue temperature rise,improved wear resistance,10% decrease in loss factor at 60 ℃,and reduced rolling resistance. |
