Abstract: |
Polyethylene glycol(PEG)400 and PEG600 were esterified and capped with lauric acid and oleic acid, respectively,to investigate the thermal stability of polyethylene glycol fatty acid esters and their effects on the demolding effect of ethylene propylene diene monomer(EPDM) compound. The results showed that esterification capping could effectively improve the thermal stability of PEG,and the thermal stability of polyethylene glycol fatty acid esters improved with the increase of PEG molecular weight. The thermal stability of polyethylene glycol fatty acid esters capped with oleic acid esterification and single fatty acid esterification was superior to that of polyethylene glycol fatty acid esters capped with lauric acid esterification and double fatty acid esterification, respectively.Adding antioxidants could significantly improve the thermal stability and wettability of polyethylene glycol fatty acid esters, and polyethylene glycol fatty acid esters with antioxidants had a good demolding effect on EPDM compound. |
