Abstract:
The effects of the four tackifying resins(A-90 resin,203 resin, coumarone resin and Koresin resin)as well as the tackifying resin blends(A-90 resin/Koresin resin and coumarone resin/Koresin resin blends)on the properties of thiol-regulated CR compounds were studied. The results showed that the addition of the four tackifying resins and the tackifying resins blends reduced the Mooney viscosities of the compound and extended the Mooney scorch time. The addition of the A-90 resin and the tackifying resin blends increased the crosslink densities of the vulcanizates. The addition of the four tackifying resins and the tackifying resin blends had little affect on the hardness and tensile strength of the vulcanizates, but increased the elongations at break and reduced the rebounds. The addition of the coumarone resin/Koresin resin blend increased the 300% modulus of the vulcanizates, enhanced the heat-aging resistance, and maintained the damping performance. The addition of the four tackifying resins and the tackifying resin blends improved the adhesive performance of the vulcanizates, and the adhesive strengths of the vulcanizates with coumarone resin and A-90 resin were higher.
