Abstract: |
The effect of water swellable powders(XS102,XS103 and XS104) on the properties of ethylene-proplene-diene rubber(EPDM) water swellable rubber was studied.The results showed that,the crosslinking degree of EPDM water swellable rubber with XS102 was the largest,and water absorption performance was the best.The water absorption rate of EPDM water swellable rubber with XS103 and XS104 was the fastest ,but the precipitation of XS103 and XS104 was severe.The tensile properties of EPDM water swellable rubber with three types of water swellable powders were not significantly different.As the increase of XS102 dosage,the flowability of EPDM water swellable rubber deteriorated,the processing performance decreased,the crosslinking degree was reduced,the interaction force with rubber matrix and the saturation water absorption rate increased,and the tensile properties decreased.When XS102 dosage was 90 phr,the water absorption performance and tensile properties of EPDM water swellable rubber were the comprehensively best. |
