Abstract: |
The yellowing behavior of the silicone sealant used in rail vehicles when bonded to the rubber substrate was studied. The results showed that, standing for 5 d in air, high temperature(80 ℃) and
ultraviolet light enviroments, the silicone sealant extruded onto the rubber substrate A occured varying degrees of yellowing, and the silicone sealant extruded onto the aluminum alloy substrate and rubber substrate B did not occure yellowing. There was no significant change in the characteristic peaks of Fourier transforom infrared spectra and relative elemental contents of the silicone sealant 1# and 2# before and after yellowing, thus the yellowing of the silicone sealant was not caused by change in its own molecular structure. The yellowing behavior of the silicone sealant during bonding with the rubber substrate A was mainly caused by the migration of small molecular substances in the rubber substrate A to the silicone sealant.Phthalate plasticizers containing unsaturated bond groups such as benzene rings and carboxyl groups,as well as amine substances such as dibutylamine, were prone to molecular structural change under UV light enviroments, thereby promoting yellowing of the silicone sealant. |
