Abstract:In this study, the silica was produced by using the sodium silicate solution which was obtained from the acid leached serpentine slag by using atmospheric pressure alkali solution method and parallel flow drop addition method. The process conditions for preparing the silica were studied, and the obtained silica was characterized. The results showed that the optimal process conditions for preparing the silica were:mass fraction of silicon dioxide 11%,pH value at the reaction end point 8,reaction temperature 80 ℃,mass fraction of electrolyte additive X(inorganic compound) 5%,and stirring speed 300 r·min-1.The average particle size of the obtained silica under these conditions was 6.96 μm and the DBP absorption value was 2.40 mL·g-1.The properties of the obtained silica met the requirements of the national or industrial standards. |
