Abstract: |
The flame retardant rubber composites were prepared by adding basic magnesium carbonate to natural rubber(NR),and the effect of basic magnesium carbonate on the properties of NR composites was studied. The results showed that with the increase of the amount of basic magnesium carbonate, the vulcanization torque of the NR compound increased, the scorch time was shortened, the tensile stress at 300% elongation and tear strength of the vulcanizate increased at first and then decreased, the oxygen index gradually increased, and the flame retardancy was improved. The decomposition temperature range of basic magnesium carbonate was wide, and the residual carbon of NR vulcanizate filled with basic magnesium carbonate was dense and evenly covered on the vulcanizate surface. |
