Abstract: |
In this paper, zinc sorbate(ZDS) was synthesized from zinc oxide(ZnO) and sorbic acid (SA) in situ during the mixing of natural rubber(NR) compound,ZDS was grafted onto NR molecular chain by free radicals produced by diisopropylbenzene peroxide during vulcanization,Zinc ions formed ionic bonds with carboxylic acid ions on NR molecular chain to prepare NR-ZDS composites with ion crosslinking network structure. The formation of ZDS was verified by X-ray diffraction analysis and infrared spectrum analysis, and the effects of the mole ratio of ZnO/SA on the vulcanization characteristics, crosslinking density and self-healing properties of the composites were investigated. The results showed that ZDS was in situ formed by SA and ZnO and grafted onto NR molecular chain. When the mole ratio of SA/ZnO was less than 2∶1,ZnO was dispersed in the rubber matrix as a reinforcing agent. When the mole ratio of SA/ZnO was 2∶1.4 and curing time was 1 min,the self-healing efficiency and tensile strength of the composite were 93% and 0.85 MPa,respectively, and comprehensive performance was better. |
