Abstract:
      Effect of α-methylstyrene resin on the properties of the tire tread compound using different styrene content solution polymerized styrene butadiene rubber(SSBR) and its blends with butadiene rubber(BR) as main materials was studied.The results showed that,the compatibility of SSBR with higher styrene content(0.36)(denoted as SSBR1) with α-methylstyrene resin was better,and SSBR1 and SSBR1/BR blends with α-methyl styrene resin had better balance between wet skid resistance and rolling resistance.In addition,SSBR1/BR had faster curing rate,higher cross-linking degree,tensile strength and elongation at break,smaller DIN abrasion and excellent comprehensive properties.
