Abstract: |
TThe service life prediction of hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber(HNBR) vulcanizates soaked in the different temperature 0# diesel oil (diesel oil for short) was studied. HNBR vulcanizates were
soaked in different temperature diesel oil for different period of time,and their Shore A hardness,tensile
strength,modulus at 50% elongation and compression set were tested. The service life of HNBR vulcanizates
was then predicted based on Arrhenius equation by using the corresponding performance parameters. The
results showed that,the service life of HNBR vulcanizates soaked in diesel oil predicted by using different
performance parameters was different. The service life predicted by Shore A hardness,tensile strength and
modulus at 50% elongation were longer,and the service life predicted by compression set was the shortest.
The reason was that the prediction by compression set took into account not only the effect of the diesel oil
but also the effect of the load. |
