Abstract: |
In order to solve the defect of road ultra-thin covering and the deficiency of volume design method, high performance rubber powder modified asphalt was prepared with rubber powder and SBS modified asphalt, and the mixture design of rubber powder modified asphalt TOM-10 mixtures was carried out by adopting volume performance balancing design method. The pavement performance of rubber powder modified asphalt TOM-10 mixtures was analyzed, and that was compared with SBS modified asphalt TOM-10 mixtures. The results showed that rubber powder modified asphalt had better high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance and aging resistance than SBS modified asphalt. The dynamic stability, residual stability, splitting strength ratio and maximum blending tensile strain of rubber powder modified asphalt TOM-10 mixtures by volume performance balancing design method were much higher than the standard requirements. The pavement performance(high temperature stability, water damage resistance, low temperature crack resistance and fatigue resistance) of rubber powder modified asphalt TOM-10 mixtures was better than that of SBS modified asphalt TOM-10 mixtures. The addition of rubber powder could improve the durability of asphalt mixtures. |
