For the green tire tread compound with solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber
(SSBR)/butadiene rubber(BR) blend as the main material,the changes of the crosslinking network structures and physical properties of silica filled SSBR/BR blend(referred as filled silica system compound)and silica unfilled SSBR/BR blend(referred as unfilled silica system compound) under different curing time were studied.The results showed that,for silica unfilled system compound,with the prolonging of the curing time,the crosslinking density of the vulcanizates decreased slightly,the hardness,modulus,tensile strength and rebound value were changed little,the tear strength increased,the elongation at break and tensile fatigue properties decreased.For the silica filled system compound,with the prolonging of the curing time,the filler networks structural degree of the vulcanizates was improved gradually,the crosslinking density increased,the polysulfide bonds with lower bond energy were fallen,the mono- and di-sulfur bonds with higher bond energy were grown,the tensile strength,rebound value,tensile fatigue property and wear resistance were basically unchanged,the heat build-up and rolling resistance decreased.The aging resistance of the two system vulcanizates were both improved with the prolonging of curing time,which showed that the tread compound with SSBR/BR blend as the main material had better properties even though it was cured at high temperature for a long time.unfilled SSBR/BR vulcanizates improve with increasing curing time. |
