Abstract: |
The effect of mixing process on the properties of acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber(NBR) was studied. The results showed that,if the initial mixing temperature was lowered, the mixing energy consumption increased, and the processing safety of mixing compound was improved. With the increase of the filling coefficient, the mixing temperature increased, the processing safety of mixing compound was reduced, but the energy consumption for producing unit mass mixing compound decreased. If the mixing time was shortened, the Mooney viscosity of mixing compound increased significantly, the Mooney relaxation time
was prolonged, dispersion of the filler was poor, the scorch time of mixing compound was shortened, and the processing performance was poor. When the filling coefficient was 0. 7,the fillers were evenly dispersed, the mixing effect was better, and the mixing compound had a lower Mooney viscosity. Low temperature mixing process had the benefit for increase of the elongation at break of vulcanizates, and the mixing process had no obvious influence on the hardness, tensile strength, resilience and compression set of vulcanizates. |
