Abstract: |
Rolling resistance, wet skid resistance and wear resistance affect fuel efficiency, safety and tire service life, respectively, there are complex relationships among they three, one aspect improvement in performance tends to sacrifice one or both of the other properties, which is called “Magic Triangle” in rubber industry. It is a long-term goal to balance and improve the three performances in the "Magic Triangle". Scholars mainly focus on the interaction and interface between rubber and filler, and progress had been made. In this paper, domestic and abroad achievements of balance "Magic Triangle" are reviewed from tire tread rubber compound, filler, vulcanization system and mixing process. It pointed out that combined the functional filler with the wet mixing process might be a feasible way to balance the performance of the three and reduce the pollution of the filler dust. |
