Abstract: |
Two kinds of nanocellulose: cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) and cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) were solution blended with natural rubber (NR), and casting into films to obtain natural rubber/cellulose nanofibrils and natural rubber/cellulose nanocrystals composites. The impact of the content of the nanocellulose on the mechanical properties of natural rubber was studied. The results showed that both the CNF and CNC had an obvious reinforcing effect, and the reinforcing effect of CNF on NR is more significant than that of CNC with the same content. In addition, the CNC would settle down from the solution during the casting process and form a layer with enriched CNC at the bottom. When the CNC content was higher than 5%, the enriched CNC layer fell off from the film during the tensile test. |
