Abstract: |
The physical properties changes of brominated butyl rubber(BIIR) with aging time and aging temperature were investigated by accelerated aging experiment in the laboratory,and the life time of BIIR stopper in saline solution was predicted.The results showed that,as the aging time in saline solution prolonged,the tensile strength and tear strength of the compound decreased,the elongation at break increased at first and then decreased,the compression set increased;the higher the temperature,the more obviously changes of the properties.The compression set was used to predict the life time of the BIIR stopper,and the life time of the stopper in saline solution was about 3.8 years. |
