Abstract: |
Five different volume fractions and five different shapes in the same volume fraction carbon black of representative volume element models with multi-particles and particles random distribution were established with multiscale analysis software Digimat to analyze the deformation and stress concentration of rubber, along with the effect of shape of carbon black clusters on the mechanical properties of rubber. Results show that the models proposed in this paper are reasonable by comparison with the reference’s simulation and experimental results. The deformations of carbon black clusters are little and the stress concentrations appear in the vicinity of the carbon black clusters. Moreover, we found that the prism and 20 faces polyhedron models to describe the shape of carbon black clusters may reveal the mechanical behavior of rubber much better. |
