Abstract: |
Affect of brominated flame-retardants and softener/plasticizers on
properties of EPDM seal compouds were studied, including harmful flame- retardant
decabromodiphenyl ether(Deca-DBE), environmentally-friendly flame-retardant ethane-1,2-bis(pentabromophenyl)(EBP),ethylene-bis(tetrabromophthalimide) and tetrabromosbisphenol A , as well as environmentally- friendly softener/plasticizer paraffin oils ,dioctyl sebacate and bis(butoxyethoxy)ethyl adipate. The results show that EBP is the best alternative to Deca-DBE. Physical properties ,flame resistance and extrusion processing properties of EBP is superior or equivalent to Deca-DBE.In the four kinds of softener/plasticizers, the best overall performance is paraffin oil KP 6030. |
