Abstract: |
The effect of reinforcing and curing system on the properties of hydrogenated nitrile rubber(HNBR) compound for packer was studied. The results showed that, compared with short cut aramid fiber and curing agent, carbon black had much more influence on Mooney viscosity of the compound. As the addition level of carbon black, fiber and curing agent increased, the crosslinking density and hardness were increased, and carbon black and fiber had much more influence on the hardness. As the addition level of carbon black and curing agent increasd, the t10 and t90 of the compound were shorten. As the addition level of fiber increasd,t10 and t90 were delayed. With the introduction of fiber, the tensile strength and the elongation at break were decreased, and the tensile stress at small strain was greatly improved, and the yield and cold flow phenomenon was appeared as similar as those of thermoplastic elastomer. The properties of the compound were obviously affected by the orientation of fiber. As the orientation of fiber and the direction of the tensile stress were paralleled, the fiber bore the stress and the tensile stress was higher when the tensile stress was applied on the compound. On the contrary,as the orientation of fiber and the direction of the tensile stress were plumbed, rubber matrix bore the stress and the tensile stress decreased. The tensile stress of the packer at small strain could be improved by filling the fiber parallel to the direction of the tensile stress. |
