Abstract:
The influence of the hydraulic oil on dynamic properties and cyclic deformation behavior of immersed NBR is estimated in the present work. The experimental results indicated that the difference of molecular structure of immersed and non-immersed NBR samples was not significant, while glass transition temperature was increased by oil immersion. The investigations showed that both dynamic modulus and ratcheting strain increased as the immersion time increased. Even a short period of hydraulic oil immersion caused the storage modulus and ratcheting strain to increase rapidly. However, the change of hysteresis was not significant. Therefore, the effects of hydraulic oil immersion on the dynamic properties and cyclic deformation behavior of NBR components are significant and should be taken into account in designing and operating.
