Abstract: |
The fundamental characteristics and its application of pyrolytic carbon black (CBP) from waste tires were studied. The effects of CBP on Mooney viscosity, the curing characteristics of natural rubber (NR) compounds and the mechanical properties of NR vulcanizates were investigated and compared with other fillers such as carbon N220、N330、N660、N774. The results showed that, the aggregate particle size distribution of CBP was wide, and its ash content was much higher than conventional carbon black. With the incorporation of CBP into NR, tensile strength and tear strength of vulcanized rubber was very high, even more than the tensile strength and tear strength of the N220, while the stress at 100% and 300% was very low; the abrasion resistance and flexing fatigue resistance of CBP was inferior to those conventional carbon black. |
