Abstract:
This paper studied the probability to synthesize the CSM via the liquid-solid bulk polymerization using sulfonyl chloride . Through the infrared spectrum analysis, it was found that there is a obvious absorption peak at 1160.40cm-1 after chlorination and sulfonation. It can be considered that the peak is the contribution of –SO2Cl2; By measuring the product’s vulcanization curve in the polyols vulcanization system,we found that its scorch time is significantly shorter than that of CPE, which also indirectly proved the feasibility of this method to prepare CSM. In addition, we carried out a preliminary study on its mechanical properties and found that its performance improved significantly compared with the same chlorine content of CPE.
