Abstract: |
Clay/natural rubber nanocomposites was used to partly replace imported natural rubber and carbon black to improve the cutting and chipping resistance of tire tread for mine condition. The results show that clay has little effect on the cure properties; clay could structure more network and the Payne effect is strong, so the stiff of uncured compound is good and the hardness and module of cured composites is high; clay could slide along the force direction and cause molecular orientation, so the elongation at break is high and tensile strength and tear strength are enhanced; clay could blunt the crack tip, so the cutting and chipping resistance and crack growth resistance is improved. The road test shows that clay/natural rubber nanocomposite is successfully applied in the tire tread. |
