Abstract:
      Based on T-shape rubber hose extrusion mold,a virtual melt extrusion system was established according to fluid mechanics theories.By using ANSYS finite element software,the flow behavior of rubber melt was simulated in pre-shaping stage of the extrusion system,and the effect of main structural parameters of the channel(the width of split cone,the distance from drag cone front end to channel inlet,and the radius of bottom part of the channel) on the key performance of extrusion mold,the relative deviation of velocity,was analyzed.The results indicated that adjustment of the main structural parameters according to the law of fluid mechanics could reduce the average deviation.The simulated results were confirmed by experimental test of modified extrusion mold.It was demonstrated that the numerical simulation method was a valuable guide to optimization of the extrusion mold structural design.
