Abstract: |
The processability and physical properties of EPDM(K8340A and K778Z) were investigated. The results showed that, the Mooney viscosity of K8340A compound was higher than that of K778Z,and they had similar scorch time and optimum curing time. Both compounds showed shear thinning behavior, and the shear thinning behavior of K8340A compound was more significant. With the increase of filler content, the modulus at 100% elongation of EPDM vulcanizates increased a little, but the tensile strength, elongation at break and tear strength decreased. The two EPDM vulcanizates possessed similar modulus at 100% elongation and tensile strength, but K8340A had lower elongation at break and tear strength, and significantly lower compression set comparing with K778Z. |
