Abstract:
The EPDM/POE thermoplastic dynamic vulcanizates (TPVs) were prepared by dynamic vulcanization, the influence of blending temperature and formulation of curing system on the properties of TPVs was investigated, and the morphologies were characterized. The results showed that,as the blending temperature and addition level of curing system increased, the vulcanization rate of blends increased. The maximum values of tensile strength and elongation at break of TPVs were obtained when the blending temperature was about 150 ℃.At this temperture, with the increase of addition level of curing system, the elongation at break decreased, but the tensile strength first decreased and then increased slightly. As the blending temperature and addition level of curing system increased, the tear strength of TPVs increased first and then decreased. When the addition level of sufur was 0.2 phr,Payne effect of the blend became significant, and the cross-linked EPDM particles with size around 1 μ m were distributed in the POE continuous phase.
