Abstract: |
The effect of zinc soap dispersant, coupling agent KH-560 and their blend on the properties of silica filled MVQ was investigated. The results showed that,by adding the dispersant or coupling agent KH-560,the filler network structure was weakened, the dispersion of silica in MVQ compound was improved, the storage modulus of compound at low strain was reduced and a stronger effect was gained in their blend. The increased bound rubber indicated that, the silica-rubber interaction was enhanced by coupling agent KH-560 and zinc soap dispersant blend. The optimum curing time of mixture was obviously reduced by the zinc soap dispersant, and the curing rate was significantly accelerated. The Shore A hardness, modulus at 100% and 300% elongation, and the tensile strength of silica filled MVQ were slightly increased by adding zinc soap dispersant and coupling agent KH-560,and the elongation at break decreased. |
