Abstract:
Polyacrylate sodium was prepared by in-situ polymerization and grafted to natural rubber latex to prepare water swelling natural rubber(WSNR),and the thermal stability, physical properties and water absorption were investigated. The results showed that the thermal stability of WSNR improved greatly compared with NR;the modulus of WSNR vulcanizate increased, and tensile strength and elongation at break decreased by adding modifiers;when modifier styrene, methyl methacrylate, vinyl acetate and ethyl acrylate were used, the swelling ratio of WSNR vulcanizate rubber increased from 870% to 5 460%,2 960%,1 930% and 1 050%,respectively.
