Abstract: |
The influence of zinc oxide on the aging resistance of EPDM compound without carbon black under UV irradiation was investigated experimentally.The results showed that zinc oxide could resist UV irradiation by physical shielding effect and increase the cross-link density of vulcanizate;the decrease of tensile strength of vulcanizate at the initial stage of UV irradiation could not be inhibited by zinc oxide,but during a long-term UV irradiation,zinc oxide possessed some protective effect;the service life of rubber goods extended as certain hydrophobicity of rubber surface was retained by zinc oxide. |
