Abstract: |
The effect of alumina particles and magnesia whisker on the thermal conductivity of elastomeric thermal pads made from silicone rubber was investigated experimentally.The results showed that the thermal conductivity of 150 phr alumina filled silicone rubber compound reached 1.08 W·(m·K)-1,approximately 5 times that of unfilled silicone rubber compound.Compared to alumina used alone,adding 0.06 mass fraction of magnesia whisker in alumina particles provided the compound with higher thermal conductivity,better thermal stability and significantly reduced coefficient of thermal expansion.The elastomeric thermal pad made from thermal conductive silicone rubber reinforced by electrical fiberglass cloth possessed high thermal conductivity and good tear strength. |
