Abstract:
      The epichlorohydrin copolymer(ECO)/organo-montmorillonite(OMMT) nano-composites were prepared by melt blending and their microstructure,tensile strength and air-tightness were investigated.The results showed that the ECO/OMMT nano-composites could form intercalated structure even at a high level of OMMT(100 phr);with high level of OMMT,the stress-strain behavior of composites tended toward that of plastic and short fibre filled rubber composites because of the high rigidity filler network formed by aggregate OMMT in ECO/OMMT nano-composites,and in addition,the air-tightness of composites was improved significantly as most of large molecular chains of rubber were intercalated into OMMT layers.
