Abstract:
      The damping property of styrene-isopentadiene-styrene block copolymer(SIS)/hydrocarbon resin blend at high temperature was investigated by dynamic mechanical analysis.SIS gave two independent loss factor (tanδ) peaks.SIS with higher content of hard polystyrene blocks had higher tanδ peak at high temperature,higher flowing temperature,and better damping property at high temperature.SIS/hydrocarbon resin blend showed better damping property than SIS,with broader effective damping temperature range and higher tanδ peak.As increasing of softening point of the resin,the damping temperature range became wider and shifted to higher temperature.SIS-A/hydrocarbon resin(P140) with blend ratio of 40/60 exhibited good damping property in 57~109 ℃.Addition of polystyrene or its blend with mica could give further improvement on damping property in the high temperature region.
