Abstract:
      A water-swellable NR(WSNR) was prepared by blending liquid starch-g-polymethyl acrylic acid(SPMAA) directly with NR latex based on emulsion blending method,and the influence of SPMAA and montmorillonite(MMT) on the water absorption and physical properties of WSNR vulcanizate was investigated.The results showed that as the SPMAA loading level increased,the water absorption rate and speed of WSNR vulcanizate increased,but the physical properties decreased;and as the crosslink density of SPMAA increased,the physical properties of WSNR vulcanizate improved li-nearly,but the water absorption rate and water retention decreased gradually.MMT provided WSNR vulcanizate better reinforcement and water absorption and retention.
