Abstract:
      An intercalated kaolin/NR nano-composite was prepared by two step intercalation,and its structure and properties were investigated.The results showed that the intercalation of macromolecular chain of NR into kaolin,which was modified by dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO) and a modifier with epoxy group,was realized,and kaolin flakes were evenly dispersed in NR matrix in nanosize;and in comparison to NR or filler type kaolin/NR composite,the intercalated kaolin/NR nano-composite resulted in both lower heat emission rate and weight loss,and in turn the improved flame retardance.
