Abstract: |
The effect of the loading levels of inorganic filler and softner on the physical properties of EPDM vulcanizate was investigated. The results showed that the hardness of the EPDM vulcanizate increased, and its tensile strength and elongation at break decreased, as the loading level of light calcium carbonate increased; the hardness and tensile strength of EPDM vulcanizate decreased, and its elongation at break and compression set increased, as the loading level of naphthenic oil increased. The physical properties of EPDM vulcanizate could be predicted by isohypse, and the required physical properties of EPDM vulcanizate could be obtained by adjusting the loading levels of light calcium carbonate and naphthenic oil in the formula. |
