      The design of medium and long-distance 425/65R22.5 20PR 165K truck and bus tire was described.In the structure design,the following parameters were taken:overall diameter 1 122 mm,cross-sectional width?420 mm,width of running surface 332 mm,arc height of running surface 10 mm,bead diameter at rim seat?569.58 mm,bead width at rim seat?336 mm,maximum width position of cross–section( H/1/H/2)?0.96,adopting 5 continuous grooves pattern for tread,pattern depth?18 mm,block/total ratio?74.97%,and number of pattern pitches?46.In the construction design,the following processes were taken:using a fully layered design for tread,using 3×0.2+6×0.35HT steel cord for 1#—3# belt,using 5×0.35HI steel cord for 4# belt,using 0.25+6+12×0.225HT steel cord for carcass,using oblique hexagonal structure for bead,using a one-stage three-drum building machine to build tires and a flat vulcanizing press to cure tires.The results of the finished tire performance test showed that,the inflated peripheral dimention,strength and durability met the requirements of corresponding design and national standards.
