Title:Numerical Simulation for Tire Design and Manufacturing

Abstract:

The presentation introduced an in-house work on the numerical simulation of tire development and manufacturing process. The work was done with a joint effort by The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and Sandia National Lab of US government. The materials include the theoretical development of the software of finite element method and its applications in tire performance modeling. The software flow, the work bench design process including automatic pre- and post-processing, and some application examples are provided. In addition, tire manufacturing process simulation in different tire manufacturing process steps was also discussed.
