Abstract: The effects of initiators and maleic anhydride dealt with on the grafting rate, vulcanization proessing, and mechanical properties of chlorinated polyethylene grafted on the melt, with dibenzoyl peroxide, dicumyl peroxide, azodiisobutyronitrile as initiator respectively. The structure and mechanism of grafting of CM were characterized and confirmed by FTIR. The blend of grafted chlorinated polyethylene and PE was prepared,and the self-adhesive of chlorinated polyethylene grafted was investigated with the properties of the blend. The thermal behavior and morphology were characterized by DSC, TGA and SEM. The results show that dibenzoyl peroxide initiated grafting chlorinated polyethylene is better; Vulcanization processing, mechanical and thermal properties of blends samples significantly are improved, as the optimal combination of components (as BPO is 1.6 phr, MAH 8phr), eg vulcanization curve appears flat area and the tensile strength reaches 16.7MPa; The mechanical properties and thermal behavior of the CM-PE blends were improved; The self-adhesive of chlorinated polyethylene grafted has improvement is confirmed. _______________________________________ Biography: EDUCATION 3/1996-6/1999 Ph.D. in Materials, Institute Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Science 9/1983-8/1986 M.A. in Polymer Materials, Dept. of Polymer Materials, Beijing University of Chemical Technology 9/1978-7/1982.
