Bingqua Mao, male, was born in November 2, 1933, in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. Mr. Mao is a professor-level senior engineer, and he is the member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, belongs the Division of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
Mr. Mao graduated in polymer material from Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology of Russia in July 1959. He had engaged in study on high temperature aromatic polyamide in Russia during 1950s, and then became a teacher of plastics, chemical fiber, polymer chemistry department of Chengdu Institute of Technology and engaged in teaching polymer chemistry and polymer physics and studying on aldehyde polymer. From 1972, he has been busy in studying the structures, properties, polymerization process and catalyst of polyolefin in Beijing Chemical Industry Research Institute.
Mr. Mao led his research group to develop a Ⅱ complex catalyst with high activity, high orientation and good particle morphology in 1978, and developed new batch liquid phase bulk polymerization without deliming, off random objects and solvent liquid which won third-grade prize of national invention award in 1982 in cooperation with partner companies.
Mr. Mao directed the project of “Technology kiloton¬-polypropylene with refinery gas as raw material” in 1985,and won first-grand prize of Sinopec scientific and technological progress award and second-grade prize of national scientific and technological progress award.
Mr. Mao started to study a new generation of efficient catalysts for olefin and the polymerization process in 1984, and his study “Catalyst system for olefin polymerization and co-polymerization” obtained China, the United States, Japan and European patents. On this basis, he developed a series of catalysts, and the study won second-grade prize of national invention awards in 1993. “a set of technique about polypropylene loop” which go hand in hand with N catalyst won first-grade prize of national scientific and technological progress award in 2001.
Mr. Mao led his research group solved a series of difficult problems of structure stability, specific surface and particle size control of spherical Magnesium chloride carrier. This called DQ catalyst has industrial produced in China, and obtain China patent in 1997. The plant was finished in 1999, and the technology won second-grade prize of national invention awards in 2003.
Mr. Mao was elected as member of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1995.
Mr. Mao won 2004 technology prize of Awardee fund. Since 1981 he has won three national invention awards and 11 provincial and ministerial science or technology awards..
Mr. Mao now is the associate director and doctoral supervisor of science and technology commission of Beijing Chemical Industry Research Institute, the director of the academic committee of state key laboratory of polymer materials engineering of Sichuan University and the vice¬- director of the academic committee of state key laboratory of carbon fiber materials of Beijing University of Chemical Technology. In addition, he is a member of the editorial board of some chemical journals in China.
Mr. Mao’s more than 70 papers have been published in journals at home and abroad, more than 10 domestic and foreign important patents have been obtained. In recent years, he supervises more than 30 doctor and master.
