• Abstract:The problem of manual inspection methods used during the green tire building process of off-the-road tires was that the stability，accuracy and speed of inspection could hardly met production requirements.Therefore，The application of profile scanning technology during the tread winding building process of off-the-road tires was studied.Field measurement data showed that，in terms of circumference measurement，the maximum difference value between profile scanning and manual measurement was 16.5 mm.In terms of thickness measurement，the maximum difference value between profile scanning and manual measurement was 0.7 mm.The profile scanning technology reduced the inspection time per off-the-road tire from 15 min to 40 s，achieving a 22.5 times increasement in efficiency.

• Abstract:The design of 265/65R18 cross-country steel-belted radial tire was introduced.In the structure design，the following parameters were taken：overall diameter　799 mm，cross-sectional width　274 mm，width of running surface　212 mm，arc height of running surface　9.79 mm，bead diameter at rim seat　460.2 mm，bead width at rim seat　228.6 mm，maximum width position of cross-section（H₁/H₂）　0.51，pattern depth　9 mm，block/total ratio　60.8% and number of pattern pitches　28.In the construction design，the following parameters were taken：using wear-resistant，tear-resistant and cut-resistant compound for tread compound，using two layers of 1440dtex/2 polyester cord fabric for carcass，using two layers of 3×0.28ST steel cord for belts，using Φ1.30 mm high tension tempered steel for wire ring，and using one-step building machine to build tires，segmented mold and low-temperature curing process to cure tires.The test results of the finished tire showed that the inflated perpheral dimension，strength，bead unseating resistance，durabilty，high-speed performance，rolling resistance and grounding footprint of the tire all met the requirements of national standards and design，the cross-country performance and cutting resistance were comparable to those of competing product.

• Abstract:The design of 255/45R19 104W Steel-belted passenger car radial tire was described.In the structure design，the following parameters were taken：overall diameter　706 mm，cross–sectional width　270 mm，width of running surface　210 mm，arc height of running surface　8.215 mm，bead diameter at rim seat　486.2 mm，bead width at rim seat　241.4 mm，maximum width position of cross–section（H1/H2）0.948 6，adopting a longitudinal tread pattern with variable pitch design，and pattern depth　8 mm，block/total　74.5%，and number of pattern pitches　80.In the construction design，the following processes were taken：the tread compound used wear-resistant and tear-resistant compound formula，and the base compound adopted a low heat build-up compound formula，using two layers of polyester cord fabric for carcass，using two layers of 3×0.3HTT SA075 steel cord for belt，using Φ1.30 mm copper-plated tempered bead wires for ring，using single-stage building machine to build tires，and using hydraulic vulcanizing press to cure tires.The finished tire performance test results showed that the inflated peripheral dimensions，strength，durability，high-speed performance and bead unseating resistance of tire all met the requirements of national standards and design specifications.

• Abstract:The design of 405/25R26 low-profile high-performance tire was described.In the structure design，the following parameters were taken：overall diameter　858 mm，cross-section width　420 mm，width of running surface　358 mm，arc height of running surface　9.8 mm，bead diameter at rim seat　660.8 mm，bead width at rim seat　382 mm，maximum width position of cross–section（H₁/H₂）　0.98，using a sysmmetric tread pattern.In the construction design，the following processes were taken：adopting three composite extruded tread design，using 2 layers of 3×0.28ST steel cord for belt，using 2 layers of 1670dtex/2 polyester dipped cord fabric for carcass，using a two-stage building machine to build tires and a nitrogen hot plate vulcanizing machine to cure tires.The results of the finished tire performance test showed that，the inflated peripheral dimention，strength，high-speed performance and durability of the tire met the design and enterprise standard requirements.

• Abstract:The influence of design of running surface width and pattern groove depth on the tire performace was investigated.The results indicated that increasing the running surface width and decreasing the pattern groove depth both enhanced the torsional stiffness and enveloping stiffness of the tire，the pattern groove depth had greater effect on the rolling resistance than that of running surface width，and variations in running surface width within 6% had no impact on the rolling resistance performance of the tire.

• Abstract:The application of rice hull ash silica in tread compound of all-steel giant off-the-road radial tire was studied.The results showed that the physical and chemical properties of rice hull ash silica met the requirements of the enterprise standards.Replacing ordinary silica with rice hull ash silica in the tread compound， the Fmax of the compound was decreased，the vulcanization rate slowed down，the dispersion of fillers improved，and the compression heat build-up reduced.The temperature inside the tread of the finished tire decreased.

• Abstract:The application of nickel caproate in steel wire adhesive compound of all-steel truck and bus radial tire was studied.The results showed that as the dosage of nickel caproate increased，the Fmax of the compound decreased，the vulcanization speed slowed，and the compression heat build-up reduced.Replacing cobalt caproate with 1 phr nickel caproate in the adhesive compound，the Mooney viscosity and Mooney scorch time of the compound were comparable，the modulus stress at 100% and tensile strength increased，the compression heat build-up decreased.While ensuring similar performance of the compound，it could also reduce material costs.

• Abstract:The application of the environmentally friendly accelerator YGzTM in the tread compound of steel-belted radial tires was studied.The results showed that replacing accelerator DPG with environmentally friendly accelerator YGzTM in the tread compound of steel-belted radial tires，the scorch time of the compound was slightly shortened and the vulcanization rate was slightly accelerated，while tensile strength and elongation at break were slightly improved，and the aging resistance and dynamic mechanical properties remained largely consistent and met the enterprise standard requirements.The durability，grip performance and rolling resistance of the finished tires were comparable，and all met national standard requirements，meanwhile production costs could be reduced effectively.

• Abstract:The adhesion properties of bio-based polyamide 56（PA56） dipped cord and PA66 dipped cord before and after hot air aging were studied.The results showed that the PA dipped cords with conventional resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex（RFL） dipping solution exhibited weak adhesion force in cord and rubber adhesive peeling test（CRA-test） after hot air aging.By adding hot aging adhesion modifiers R and V into the RFL dipping solution，the adhesion properties of bio-based PA56 and PA66 dipped cords after hot air aging were significantly improved in CRA-test.By lower the solid content of the dipping solution，bio-based PA56 dipped cord with low solid contact and hot air aging resistance was prepared，which presented favorable adhesion properties both before and after hot air aging.

• Abstract:The design of bead reinforcement schemes for steel-belted radial light truck radial tires was studied.The results indicated that increasing the turn-up height of the carcass and reducing the vulcanization temperature of the tire were helpfull to improve bead durability，and increasing the bead filler height and adding bead reinforcement layers could further enhance the bead durability，effectively reducing stress concentration at the bead area，lowering the likelihood of early damage in the bead region，and extending the service life of the tire.

• Abstract:Regarding the prevalent failure issue concentrated in the lower mold of 12.00R24 all-steel radial tires in the market，through the finite element simulation，the influence of structural differences between the upper and lower mold sections on tire performance was analyzed.The results revealed that the structural asymmetry led to performance degradation on one side of the tire，consequently increasing its risk of failure.By Tightering the approval criteria of the cross-sectional of the finished tires to strictly control its asymmetry，the service life of the tire was prolonged，the reliability was significantly improved，and the failures of the tire in the market were no longer primarily localized to one side.

• Abstract:Taking the summer pattern XNEX tire and the smooth MG tire as the research objects，the influence of tire pre-running-in on dry braking distance was verified through real vehicle test and bench test.The results showed that pre-running-in could stabilize the surface performance of tire，improve testing efficiency and reduce research and development costs.Among the tire pre-running-in schemes，the emergency braking pre-running-in scheme performed the best，followed by the ordinary braking pre-running-in scheme，and the normal driving pre-running-in scheme performed the worst.
